Creating an Account

Getting started on SDX takes less than five minutes. There are no subscription tiers, no credit-card gates, and no trial periods. The platform is free for every contributor.

  1. Visit sdx.dev/signup and enter your work email address.
  2. Verify your email by clicking the confirmation link sent to your inbox.
  3. Set a password that meets the minimum requirements (12 characters, one uppercase, one number).
  4. Accept the SDX Terms of Service and Data Processing Agreement.

You can also sign up with an existing identity provider via SSO (Google Workspace, Microsoft Entra ID, or Okta).

Set up your organisation

After verifying your email you will be prompted to create or join an organisation.

Creating a new organisation

FieldDescription
Organisation nameYour company or fund name as it should appear in reports
CountryPrimary country of operation — used for regulatory defaults
IndustryReal estate sub-sector (office, retail, residential, industrial, mixed-use, other)
TimezoneDefault timezone applied to new properties

Joining an existing organisation

If a colleague has already registered your company, you can request to join their organisation. Search by name or enter an invite code. An organisation admin must approve your request before you gain access.

User roles

Every organisation has three built-in roles:

  • Owner — Full control over the organisation, billing settings, and member management. At least one Owner must exist at all times.
  • Admin — Can manage properties, submit data, generate reports, and invite members. Cannot delete the organisation.
  • Viewer — Read-only access to dashboards and reports. Cannot submit or modify data.

Roles are assigned at the organisation level. Property-level permissions can be configured separately under Settings > Properties > Access.

Invite team members

Navigate to Settings > Team and click Invite Member. Enter the recipient's email, select a role, and optionally restrict their access to specific properties. The invitee will receive an email with a link to accept.

There is no limit on the number of team members you can invite.

Enable single sign-on (SSO)

Organisation Owners can connect an identity provider under Settings > Authentication > SSO. SDX supports SAML 2.0 and OIDC. Once SSO is enabled you can optionally enforce it so that all members must authenticate through your identity provider.

Multi-factor authentication

MFA is available for all users and can be enforced at the organisation level. SDX supports TOTP-based authenticator apps (Google Authenticator, Authy, 1Password, etc.) and hardware security keys via WebAuthn.
