Understanding Your Dashboard

Once you have added properties and submitted data, the SDX dashboard gives you a single view of your portfolio's sustainability performance.

Dashboard layout

The dashboard is divided into four sections accessible from the top navigation:

  1. Portfolio Overview — High-level KPIs across all your buildings
  2. Building Detail — Deep dive into a single building's performance
  3. Data Quality — Completeness, coverage, and freshness scores
  4. Compliance — Status of regulatory and voluntary reporting frameworks

Portfolio Overview

The portfolio view shows aggregate metrics for every active building in your organisation.

Key performance indicators

MetricDescription
Total floor areaSum of gross floor area across all buildings
Energy Use Intensity (EUI)Portfolio-weighted average in kWh/m²/year
Carbon IntensityPortfolio-weighted average in kgCO₂e/m²/year
Water Use IntensityPortfolio-weighted average in litres/m²/year
Data Quality GradeAggregate letter grade from A to F
Data Dividend EstimateProjected quarterly dividend based on current data

You can filter the portfolio view by property type, region, fund, or custom tags.

  • EUI trend — Rolling 12-month energy use intensity with year-on-year comparison
  • Carbon breakdown — Scope 1 vs. Scope 2 emissions by fuel type
  • Benchmark distribution — Histogram showing how your buildings rank within SDX peer groups
  • Top movers — Buildings with the largest improvement or deterioration over the last quarter

Building Detail

Click any building to open its detail page. Here you will find:

  • Benchmark scores across all applicable standards (SDX, ENERGY STAR, NABERS, EU EPC, CRREM, GRESB). See Benchmarking Standards for details.
  • Meter data — Time-series charts for each utility meter, with anomaly flags.
  • Year-on-year comparison — Side-by-side performance for the current and previous reporting year.
  • Targets — Custom reduction targets with progress tracking.

Data Quality panel

The Data Quality panel provides a letter grade (A through F) for each building and the portfolio overall. It evaluates three dimensions:

  • Completeness — What percentage of expected meter readings have been received?
  • Coverage — Do submitted meters account for whole-building consumption?
  • Freshness — How recently was the last reading received?

A higher data quality grade increases your Data Dividend and improves benchmark reliability. See Data Quality Scoring for the full methodology.

Compliance tracker

The compliance tracker shows the status of each regulatory or voluntary framework you have opted into:

  • Green — Submission complete and accepted
  • Amber — Submission in progress or data gaps identified
  • Red — Deadline approaching with incomplete data

Supported frameworks include GRESB, NYC LL97, Boston BERDO, EU EPBD, UK MEES, and more. See Compliance Frameworks for the full list.

Customising the dashboard

  • Pin buildings to the top of the portfolio view for quick access.
  • Create custom views with saved filter and sort combinations.
  • Set alert thresholds to receive email or webhook notifications when a metric exceeds a limit.
  • Export any view to PDF or CSV from the top-right menu.
